What is the difference between IMK and LMK?
IMK means in my knowledge and hedges your own statement — it signals you might be wrong. LMK means let me know and asks the other person to tell you something later. They are one keystroke apart, which is why IMK is so often a slip for LMK.
Is IMK the same as AFAIK?
They mean essentially the same thing: as far as I am aware. AFAIK is much older and far more widely recognised, so it is the safer choice in writing that strangers will read.
