Etymology
Borrowed either from Irish Ó Cinnéidigh, made up of ceann ("head") and éidigh ("ugly"), or from Scottish Gaelic Ceannaideach, made up of ceann ("head") and aideach ("ugly"). Compare Kenneth and Irish eitigh ("refuse, reject").
