Etymology
As a name, it comes from Latin Martha, from Ancient Greek Μάρθα (Mártha), from Aramaic מָרְתָא (mārtā, "mistress"), the feminine of מרא (mārā); it is a doublet of Marfa. In the sense "humidity chamber", it comes from the use of Martha Stewart-branded storage closets in the construction of early units.
