Borrowed from Ukrainian тризу́б (tryzúb, "trident"), made up of три (try, "three"), ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *tréyes ("three"), and зуб (zub, "tooth"), ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *ǵómbʰos ("tooth; row of teeth; peg"). See three, comb.
