candy paint
What does candy paint mean?
A multi-layer translucent paint finish — typically a metallic base coat under several coats of tinted clear — that makes a car look glassy, jewel-toned, and a foot deep. Reds, blues, greens, oranges so bright they look digital. Born in West Coast lowrider culture, perfected in Houston on slabs, and immortalized in tracks like Paul Wall's 'Sittin' Sidewayz.'
Origin
1960s American hot-rod and lowrider scene; adopted and elevated by Houston slab culture from the '80s onward.
