The handful of huge, lowest-common-denominator subreddits that used to be auto-loaded into every new user's feed. Synonymous with mainstream, normie Reddit — the front-page stuff regulars grew tired of and accused of dragging the site's quality down.

Origin
Reddit used to ship new accounts with a fixed list of around 50 subscribed subreddits (r/funny, r/pics, r/AskReddit, etc.). The system was retired in 2017 in favour of r/popular and personalised onboarding, but the term stuck.
