What does doge mean?
The Shiba Inu meme itself, plus the whole speech style it spawned, two-word fragments stacked together (much, very, so, such, wow) to caption a reaction or a situation. Reading it in your head with the slightly stunned dog voice is the whole appeal.

Origin
Built on a 2010 photo of Kabosu, a rescue Shiba Inu in Japan, posted by her owner Atsuko Sato. By 2013, Tumblr and Reddit had stamped it with multicolored Comic Sans phrases like 'such wow' and 'very doge,' and it became one of the defining memes of the decade. It later inspired Dogecoin (DOGE).
