What does draft mean?
The phase before the match where teams take turns picking champions and banning ones they don't want to face. Games can be won or lost here before anyone even spawns.
"We got out-drafted hard — they banned all my comfort picks and counter-picked our carry."
Origin
Borrows from sports drafting. The picks-and-bans format is core to competitive MOBAs like League and Dota.
