What does geedunk mean?
Snacks, sweets, ice cream — the sugary stuff sailors live on at sea. By extension, the shipboard shop or canteen where you buy it. Underway, a trip to the geedunk is genuine entertainment.

Origin
US Navy slang since at least the 1920s. One theory points to the sound of a vending machine dropping a snack; another to the 1920s comic strip 'Harold Teen' which featured a soda shop called the Sugar Bowl that served sundaes called 'gedunks'.
