What does mash mean?
To destroy, wreck or batter something. Cars get mashed in crashes, opponents get mashed in a fight, a phone screen gets mashed when you drop it.

Origin
From Jamaican Patois 'mash up' (to destroy/break), which entered London road slang via the Caribbean diaspora. The 'tired' and 'intoxicated' senses are British extensions of the same image — to be in the state of something that's been mashed.
