pip

What does pip mean?

In most FX pairs, one pip is 0.0001 — the fourth decimal. For yen pairs it's the second decimal. It's the unit traders count P&L in: 'up 30 pips today' beats trying to say '0.0030 of EURUSD'.

"She was long EURUSD from 1.0840 and took 25 pips off the top."

Origin

Stands for 'percentage in point' (or 'price interest point').
