What does rage-bait mean?
A post, video or take crafted to make you furious enough to comment, quote-tweet or stitch — boosting its numbers in the process. The creator usually doesn't even believe what they're saying.
"That 'you should tip 30% minimum' video is obvious rage-bait, don't fall for it."
Origin
Cousin to clickbait. The algorithm rewards engagement and angry comments count the same as positive ones, so creators learned to post deliberately wrong, infuriating or smug content because the rage fuels the reach.
