ragebait

What does ragebait mean?

A post, video or take crafted to make you so annoyed you have to reply, quote, or duet it. The creator doesn't care if you agree, they care that you engaged. Falling for it is feeding it.

"That 'women shouldn't drive over 30mph' video is pure ragebait, don't quote-tweet it."

Origin

Built on the older 'clickbait' template; took off in the late 2010s and became inescapable in algorithmic feeds where anger is the cheapest engagement to mine.
