What does rerecording mean?
The core workflow of a tool-assisted speedrun. You load a savestate from earlier in the run, try a different input, and the emulator rewrites the movie from that point. Do it thousands of times and you grind out a flawless run frame by frame. Rerecord counts on big TASes can hit hundreds of thousands.

Does a high rerecord count make a TAS better?
Not directly — it just reflects how much grinding went in. More rerecords usually means a more polished, optimised run, but the count itself isn't the score.
