What does rodbuster mean?
The ironworker who places and ties reinforcing bar — the rebar grid that gives concrete its tensile strength. Brutal work: bent double all day, twisting wire ties with pliers, in sun, mud, and rain, before the pour buries it forever. A recognised branch of the ironworkers' union, distinct from structural (steel beam) ironworkers.
