What does the tunnels mean?
A 36-block climate-controlled walkway system running underneath downtown Dallas, connecting office towers, food courts and parking. Built up from the 1960s onward as a way to dodge the Texas heat — also widely blamed for hollowing out street-level downtown for decades.
