What does wormtown mean?
Worcester's self-given nickname, embraced and merch-ified by the local punk scene. Coined in the late '70s by WCUW DJ LB Worm to describe the city's underdog music and culture scene. Now plastered on breweries (Wormtown Brewery), t-shirts, and tattoos. Outsiders sometimes assume it's an insult — Worcester people know it's a flag.
