zesty
What does zesty mean?
Used to describe a man whose body language, voice or vibe reads as flamboyant — limp wrists, hand flourishes, sing-songy delivery. Often deployed as light teasing among friends; widely critiqued as a thinly veiled way to call someone gay without saying it.
Origin
Older AAVE shorthand for flamboyant or effeminate mannerisms that went mainstream via TikTok around 2021–2022 — popularised by viral 'zesty' compilations that labelled certain gestures, walks and inflections.
