What is the difference between gtg and brb?
Gtg means you are leaving the conversation for good, at least for now. Brb, 'be right back', means you are stepping away for a moment and will return. Sending gtg usually ends the chat; brb pauses it.
Does gtg mean 'got to go' or 'good to go'?
Both, and context decides. At the end of a message it almost always means got to go, while after a status update, as in 'everything's uploaded, gtg', it means good to go.
