Etymology
Comes from Fore kúru, literally “trembling, shivering”. It may ultimately go back to Proto-Gorokan *kút(V) (“dangling, shaking”), if it is cognate with the reduplicated element in Yagaria gúli gúli hu- (“be loose, rattle”).
