Full origin of PPT →Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between PPT and PPTX?
PPT is the older binary PowerPoint format; PPTX is the XML-based format introduced with PowerPoint 2007 and used by default ever since. PPTX files are smaller, less prone to corruption, and openable by more software, though modern PowerPoint reads both.
What is the difference between ppt and ppm?
Both express concentration: ppm is parts per million and ppt is parts per trillion, so ppt is a million times smaller. Because ppt is occasionally also read as parts per thousand in older texts, careful writing spells the unit out.
How do you convert a PPT to a PDF?
In PowerPoint, choose File then Export or Save As and pick PDF; Google Slides offers the same under File and Download. Converting flattens animations and transitions, so anything that relied on click-by-click reveals will appear all at once.
