(Islam) Five fundamental devotional practices of Islam, considered to be obligatory for all Muslims to follow; namely: declaration of faith in Allah (shahada), five daily prayers (salah), almsgiving (zakat), fasting (saum), and pilgrimage to Mecca (hajj).
