Ariana

Etymology

A modern simplification of Arianna, Ariane and Arianne, all of which are forms of the Greek name Ariadne (“most holy”; from Cretan Greek αρι (ari) “most” and αδνος (adnos) “holy”). It has sometimes been confused with the similar-sounding Adriana and Adrienne, and by folk etymology it has also been linked to Welsh arian (“silver”).
