The capital 'D' and lowercase 's' aren't an accident; the typography mirrors the dynamic. D/s can be confined to scenes or run the whole relationship, and it's distinct from S/M (sensation) and Top/Bottom (physical roles), though they often travel together. It's the D and the S in BDSM.

Someone — usually mocked — from the leafy, monied Dublin 4 postcode (Ballsbridge, Donnybrook, Sandymount). The D4 head is the Irish Sloane Ranger: rugby club, Audi, holiday in the south of France, accent that turns 'roads' into 'rhodes'. Ross O'Carroll-Kelly is the patron saint of the breed.
