British for IPO flipping. You apply for the float not because you love the company, but because you reckon the first-day pop will be juicy and you'll be out before lunch. A "stag" is the punter, the act is "stagging". Worked beautifully through the Thatcher-era privatisations.

To rob someone — usually a planned hit rather than a random mugging. Common in drill lyrics; the verb form gets used street-side too.

Rooted in AAVE and hip-hop, it spread on TikTok in 2023 via creators (notably DDG) using it to describe being serious about your obligations and word. To 'stand on business' is to refuse to back down or flake.

Mock diagnosis for a patient performing illness loudly out of proportion to anything actually wrong. The wailer in bay 6 you can hear from triage, vitals stone normal, pain reported as 'eleven out of ten'. Used between staff as shorthand for 'don't escalate, just reassure'.

Going stealth can be about safety (dodging transphobia) or just wanting to be seen as yourself without an asterisk. Some keep close friends and partners in the loop; the deeper version tells nobody.

Heavily drunk. Past the merry stage, well into the swaying, slurring, can't-find-your-keys stage. One of dozens of Scottish words for drunkenness, and probably the most widely used outside Scotland too.

A lesbian who lives in the middle of the stud-femme spectrum — some days masculine, some days feminine, often both at once. The word is specific to Black and Latina queer culture, where stud and femme are the two ends and stem is the blend. It gave a lot of women language for 'I'm not all one thing.'
