What does mouse mean?
A small foam or felt plug — sometimes a wad of plastic bag — shot through an empty conduit with a vacuum or compressed air, dragging a pull string behind it. Once the string's through, you use it to pull the actual wires. Called a mouse because it scurries through the pipe.
"Long run, no way I'm fishing it — vac a mouse through and we'll pull from there."
