What does wavedash (smash) mean?
Jump, then air-dodge at a low diagonal into the ground. You slide along the floor but stay fully actionable, so you can wavedash into a grab, a tilt, whatever. It's the backbone of Melee's slippery ground movement.

Is the Smash wavedash the same as the Tekken wavedash?
No. They share a name but the Tekken wavedash is a Mishima movement loop. The Smash one is an air-dodge into the ground.
