What does ding mean?
To gain a level. People announce it in chat the second it happens — half celebration, half asking for a 'grats'.
"Ding! 60 finally, took me three days of grinding that cave."
Origin
EverQuest and World of Warcraft slang; the level-up chime made a 'ding' sound, so players shout 'ding!' when they level.
