The line where the safe zone ends and the storm begins. Playing edge means hugging that boundary so nobody can third-party you from outside. Safe back, eyes forward.

Instead of attacking the recovering player, you just snatch the ledge first. Since only one fighter can hold it, their tether or sweet-spot recovery has nowhere to grab and they fall to their death. Cheap, clean, effective.

When you knock someone offstage, you don't sit back and wait, you go out (or sit at the ledge) and attack them so they can't recover. Half of Smash kills come from a good edgeguard, not from raw damage.
