A motorcycle cop. Named for the stunt rider Evel Knievel, because anyone on two wheels chasing you down the highway gets compared to him.

An assurance that all is well and in order ('criss' = crisp/fine).

Calling someone an 'ewu' means you think they're being foolish or unserious — the same way calling someone a 'goat' or 'dummy' works as a light insult in English. It's a common, mild jab used in banter rather than a slur, and has become a favourite word across Nigerian Pidgin comedy and social media, regardless of ethnicity.

The phrase is half technical (it's a real market-microstructure term) and half savage burn aimed at copers buying obvious tops.

A triage category and grim slang for a wounded person who is not expected to survive.

The traffic cop between kitchen and dining room. Expo reads the tickets, calls the times to the line, marshals plates as they come up, garnishes, wipes, trays and hands off to runners. Done well, expo is invisible and service hums. Done badly, the whole night derails. Sometimes a chef, sometimes a senior server, always the one being yelled at from both sides.

The Extremely Online person gets every reference, knows every micro-celebrity feud, and can trace a meme back to the 2014 Vine. Often the trait of journalists, posters, and people who 'work in social'. Useful skill, slightly cursed life.

Used as a friendly 'hello', or as a warning meaning 'watch out'. Ubiquitous across Yorkshire and the East Midlands.

A brief illustrated or animated bumper shown just before and after a commercial break in a TV anime, often featuring characters in a fun pose. Fans collect and screenshot memorable ones.
