A diagnosis people throw at anyone behaving as if their daily life is a prestige TV show and strangers are supporting cast. Romanticising a coffee run is harmless. Filming someone in public because they're 'ruining your scene' is the dark version. The term flips the wholesome 'be the main character of your own story' TikTok trend into an insult.

A curse or bad luck believed to be caused by someone's envious or admiring gaze. Also maljeaux.

Severely beaten up, done over, given a hammering. Glaswegian. The word carries proper menace — being malkied isn't a black eye, it's a hospital trip.

To attack or beat up; 'a malky' can also mean a razor or blade used as a weapon.

mall grab

Holding or carrying a skateboard by gripping the truck, widely mocked as the mark of a non-skater or poser since real skaters carry the deck.

Mum. The standard Welsh-English word for mother, used by everyone from toddlers to grown adults. Saying 'mum' in Wales marks you as English or as having gone a bit posh. Also heard in Geordie, Mackem and Irish English, but in Wales it's universal.
