Thin plastic film for wrapping food; a genericised trademark.
glaikit
General
Scots for vacant, gormless, dim — the look of someone who's been asked a question and is still buffering thirty seconds later. Less about actual intelligence and more about appearance: the slack-jawed, mouth-open, lights-on-no-one-home expression. Brutal but precise.
glam

The look you put together by glamouring gear, so you wear your best stats but show off whatever fit you want. In FFXIV, glam is half the endgame.
glass
Gaming
In the phrase 'clean the glass,' to grab rebounds aggressively.
glass cannon
Gaming
The AWP one-shots, but it's expensive. Skip the armor and you can scrape the cash together. Now you hit like a truck but die to a single body shot. All damage, no defense, hence glass cannon.
glass skin

A skincare goal of poreless, ultra-hydrated, luminous skin that reflects light like a pane of glass.
glassy

Extremely smooth water conditions undisturbed by wind, giving the surface a glass-like sheen. Prized surf conditions.

As a noun, 'the glide,' the technique itself.
gliding
Street
Driving into a rival's block to confront, shoot or scare them. Same energy as 'sliding' — drill rappers use it to brag about hostile road trips.
glitchless

A category that bars you from using any glitches. Pure, intended play, just executed fast. The community defines exactly what counts as a glitch.
glizzy
Internet
By extension, used jokingly as a unit for anything long and tubular.
glm
General
Old paediatric/A&E acronym used by junior doctors as a private flag in the notes. Pairs with GLF (Good Looking Family). The kind of thing modern record-keeping and patient access laws have largely stamped out — but it lived in British hospital folklore for decades.
glo gang
Street
Glory Boyz Gang, shortened to Glo Gang — the 2014 rebrand of Chief Keef's GBE imprint. Same crew, new branding: the smiley sun logo became one of the most bootlegged graphics in rap. Still active as Keef's label and lifestyle umbrella.
gloaming
General
The evening twilight; the time between sunset and dark.
glock
Street
A pistol made by Glock GmbH. Plastic-framed, lightweight, brutally reliable — which is why rappers, cops, and just about everyone in between name-drop it. In drill lyrics 'Glock' has stopped meaning a specific gun and just means 'my handgun.'
glomp
Internet
A boisterous form of hugging in which someone leaps or lunges at another person like a tackle, wrapping them up. A common affectionate gesture in fan art and conventions.
glory boyz
Street
The crew/label Chief Keef built around himself out of O'Block — Fredo Santana, Lil Reese, SD, Tadoe, Ballout. Started as Glory Boyz Entertainment (GBE), got rebranded as Glo Gang around 2013. The engine room of first-wave drill: 'I Don't Like,' 'Love Sosa,' the whole movement.

glue guy
General
A player who does the unglamorous things — defense, hustle, spacing — that keep a team functioning.

gmi

gn
Internet
Good Night — Web3's evening counterpart to GM. Posted as a standalone tweet or Discord message to wrap up the day, often with sun-setting or moon emojis. Performs the same tribal hello-and-goodbye function as GM: it's less about communicating night-time and more about reminding the timeline you're part of the club.
