British Army insult lobbed by Paras and Royal Marines at anyone wearing a 'crap' coloured beret — i.e. not the maroon of the Parachute Regiment or the green of the Commandos/SF. If your beret isn't earned through P Company or the All Arms Commando Course, you're a hat. Often shortened to just 'hat'.

AI-controlled units in a MOBA. Lane creeps march down the lanes in waves; neutral creeps sit in the jungle waiting to be cleared. Killing them feeds you gold and experience. The bread and butter of farming.

Where opposing creep waves meet and grind each other down. Control the equilibrium and you control the lane. Pull it toward your tower for safe farming, or shove it into theirs to deny.

crema

General

The tan-coloured foam that crowns a properly pulled espresso shot — emulsified oils and CO2 forced out of the beans by the pressure. Thick stable crema = fresh beans and a clean pull. No crema = stale beans or a botched extraction. Baristas read it like tea leaves.

Crenshaw Boulevard — the long South LA strip running through the Crenshaw District. Cultural spine for Black LA, lowrider Sunday cruising lane, and forever tied to Nipsey Hussle and the Marathon Clothing store on Crenshaw & Slauson.

The pair of cantilever bridges hauling US 90 Business across the Mississippi from downtown New Orleans over to Algiers and the rest of the West Bank. Old-timers still call it the Greater New Orleans Bridge or just 'the GNO'; it was officially rechristened the Crescent City Connection in 1989 when the second span opened. Toll booths came down in 2013 and good luck finding a local who misses them.
