An adverb describing something perfectly on point or accurate.

A good deal of something; "a right smart piece" means a fair distance.

The default reply guys use to mock anyone who paid real money for an NFT. The argument: the image itself is just a file anyone can copy, so why pay six figures? Triggers NFT bros instantly because it's both technically true and emotionally devastating.
right-size

To change the size of a team or organisation to the 'appropriate' level, frequently a softer term for making cuts.
righteous

Used as emphatic praise, meaning real and proper.

From the standard French 'pourri' (rotten, corrupt). Verlan reshapes pou-rri into ri-pou. It describes someone corrupt, most famously a bent police officer.

A physique combining low body fat with noticeable muscle definition, so the muscles look sharply cut.

Something excellent or first-rate; often 'you little ripper!' as an exclamation of delight.
riptide

A strong seaward current caused by water returning to the ocean after waves push it ashore; often used loosely and interchangeably with rip current.

'Risk off' describes an environment in which fear or uncertainty drives investors to safer assets such as government bonds, gold, or the US dollar. Riskier assets are sold.

'Risk on' describes an environment in which investors are optimistic and willing to buy riskier, higher-yielding assets like equities. Money flows out of safe havens toward growth.
ristretto

Espresso shot pulled with the same grounds but roughly half the water. Sweeter, syrupier, less bitter — you cut the extraction before the harsh bitter compounds come through. Starbucks Flat Whites are built on ristretto shots by default.
rizz

Natural charm or charisma, especially a talent for flirting and attracting a romantic partner. Also used as a verb: to "rizz someone up" is to charm them.

A small clip or holder used to grip the last inch of a joint so it can be smoked without burning your fingers.

The mobile catering truck that pulls onto the site mid-morning slinging breakfast burritos, coffee, and shrink-wrapped sandwiches. 'Roach' is an affectionate insult about the hygiene situation — nobody actually thinks there are roaches, but nobody's checking either. Also heard on military bases and outside factories.

A document laying out an NFT or crypto project's planned milestones, features and deliverables, used to attract and reassure buyers.
roam

Peeling off your own lane to influence another part of the map, usually to gank, set up a kill, or take an objective. Mid and support roam the most because their lanes free up fastest.
roamer

A defender who doesn't sit on site. They rove the map looking for attackers caught out of position, flank them, get a pick, then vanish before the trade comes back. Big in Rainbow Six Siege.

To cry or sob. In Yorkshire 'roaring' means crying, not shouting.

More broadly, to do something with style and command, with 'rock' meaning to handle expertly.

On a construction site, a rocker is the worker who hangs drywall — lifting and screwing the heavy 4×8 sheets of gypsum board (Sheetrock) to studs and joists. Pure muscle work. Different job from the taper, who finishes the seams after.
