The hip-hop name for the Gulf Coast — Houston as the capital, with New Orleans, Memphis and the rest of Texas under the same flag. A claim that the South wasn't a side scene to East-vs-West but its own coast with its own sound: screwed-and-chopped, candy paint, slab culture, trill.

Let two teams beat each other half to death, then roll in fresh and clean up both. Scummy? Maybe. Effective? Absolutely. The whole genre runs on it.
