The traditional sense — families who have been wealthy for generations, as opposed to the newly rich.

A stand-in reference for a person whose name you don't know or won't say; tone can be neutral or scornful.

The Old Guard is leather culture's founding myth — the period from roughly the end of WWII to the late 1960s, when gay leather circles ran on tight clubs, rigid protocol and a borrowed-from-the-military chain of command. Honorifics were mandatory, ranks were earned, and everything had a rule. Worth knowing: historians treat the 'returning WWII vets built it' story as more legend than verified fact — no single person actually fits the whole tale. But the romance of it still shapes how a lot of leather people talk about 'how it used to be done.'

The police, especially in London. Often just 'the Bill'. Origin is fuzzy — possibly the WWI cartoon character Old Bill, possibly the 'BL' on old Met warrant cards. ITV's The Bill ran for 26 years and locked it into the national vocabulary.

Casual conversation, gossip or persuasive patter, central to a good lime. Also old-talk.

The setups you run on a downed opponent as they wake up, meaties, throws, mix-ups, designed so they have to guess right or eat damage the moment they stand.

A short, smiling kiss-off used to dismiss a take perceived as out-of-touch, condescending, or generationally entitled — usually from a baby boomer, but applied to anyone giving boomer-energy. The whole point is refusing to debate.

A well-bred, affluent young lady character — often haughty, sheltered and elegant, sometimes with a signature aristocratic laugh ('ohohoho'). A recognisable stock archetype.

'Officer In Charge' — the officer designated as responsible for a particular activity, detail, or facility, often a smaller or temporary scope than a formal command.

A call to attract someone's attention or to protest; famous in the 'Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi' chant.

A meme descriptor for anything strange, cursed, or absurd, treating Ohio as a place where bizarre things happen.

An exclamation expressing shock, disbelief, or exasperation.

A softened swear used to express shock or frustration, from 'oh God'. Also 'oh gawd', 'oh gosh'.

An expression of delight at something cute, following the Minnesota 'oh for ___' pattern.

Compounds describe the whole eye area: 'ogle riahs' or 'ogle fakes' were the eyelashes, and 'ogle filters' could mean glasses or sunglasses.

In Igbo cosmology, an ọgbanje is a spirit-child believed to die young and be reborn to the same mother repeatedly, tormenting the family — a serious, real spiritual belief (explored in literature such as Akwaeke Emezi's 'Freshwater'). In casual modern slang, the word gets stretched loosely to describe someone unpredictable, dramatic, or hard to control, without the original spiritual weight.

Used to address or refer to a boss, employer, or any male figure of authority or respect.

A respected veteran of a server, scene, or fandom. Was there for the founding drama, knows where the bodies are buried, gets nodded to in #general. Worn as a badge.

The full-length name and acronym of Odd Future, the LA crew Tyler, the Creator built out of skate park energy and a Tumblr-era internet. Shorthand for an entire late-2000s / early-2010s aesthetic: cat hats, donut logos, Golf Wang, deliberate chaos. Most members are now bigger solo than the crew ever was.

A planning or bonding meeting deliberately held somewhere other than the workplace.

A coordinated defensive move where the back line pushes up in unison as the ball is played, leaving forwards offside.

Wind blowing from the land out toward the ocean, which holds waves up and grooms clean, hollow faces. Considered ideal for surfing.

Position 3. You play the rough lane, usually outnumbered, scrapping for XP off a tense creep equilibrium. Tough, durable heroes who can survive being bullied and still come online as a tanky initiator.
