A police helicopter, especially one hovering low over a poor or minority neighbourhood with its searchlight on. Derogatory, born from the experience of being on the wrong end of the spotlight.

The handshake after the whistle. GG with a little extra respect tacked on — used when the match was actually close, the opponent earned it, or you want to signal you're not salty. Sarcastic when typed after a blowout.

Short for 'good game, easy', typed after winning to mock the other team by claiming it was no challenge. The 'gg' part is normally polite, but 'ez' flips it into a taunt.

In 'GG EZ,' a deliberately disrespectful taunt after an easy win.

A booking style that mimics dating a girlfriend: kissing, eye contact, cuddling, conversation, maybe dinner first. Less mechanical than a straight transactional booking. The pricing sits at a premium because the emotional labour is the actual product.

Very or rather; 'gey guid' means very good.

Describes a person who develops a crush the moment they see someone attractive; often used jokingly about fans and their new biases.

To ride deep inside the barrel or 'pit' of a wave. A hallmark phrase of stoked barrel culture.

Getting tattooed inside, named for the buzzing of an improvised electric tattoo machine.

Pulling something off with style — dressing crazy, rapping crazy, balling out, whatever. Detroit usage (Sada Baby, Babyface Ray) leans into the flex: you're not just doing the thing, you're doing it loud enough that everybody has to clock it.

get up outta that

Expression of friendly disbelief — 'no way!', 'you're joking!', 'go on outta that'. Used when someone tells you something surprising, gives you a compliment you want to deflect, or says something a bit cheeky. Warm, not aggressive — closer to playful dismissal than a real telling-off.

A command or mindset to go earn money and prioritize your hustle above everything else.

Time to leave. A push to start moving — out the door, off the couch, on to the next thing.

To meet with misfortune, be frustrated or have things go wrong ('salt' = jinxed/unlucky).

To behave loudly or dramatically, ranting, complaining, or making a commotion. 'Getting on bad' means acting up.
