A greeting asking what someone is doing or how they are getting on. 'Weh yuh a deal wid?'

A dismissive brush-off signaling you're done with the conversation and don't care.

Genuine 'what do you mean?' — sincere ask for clarification. Tone is light, not aggressive.

what's the story?

Standard Irish greeting, especially Dublin. Means 'how are you', 'what's up', or 'what's going on'. Not a literal request for a story — answering with actual news is fine, but 'not much, yourself?' works too. Often shortened to just 'story?'
