Drafting season is the run-up to cuffing season, when singles assess and shortlist potential partners to pair up with for the colder months.

A rising uppercut, usually with invincibility on start-up, done on the dragon-punch motion. It blows up jump-ins and works as a wake-up reversal — but whiff it and you're wide open for a punish.

A fool, an idiot, someone with the lights on but nobody home. Affectionate when aimed at a mate, properly cutting when aimed at a stranger. Newcastle/North-East staple.

To publicly expose a pseudonymous person's real identity or personal details; a 'doxxed' team has publicly known founders, seen as more trustworthy.

A shot taken from far beyond the three-point arc; long-range territory.

A phase where the boss can't be hit, it's flown off, gone invulnerable, or you're dealing with adds. Smart players line up cooldowns so they don't waste them during downtime.

A running back who attacks the line of scrimmage in a straight, forward, aggressive style rather than dancing side to side.

Describes a ball-handler driving hard and fast toward the basket, building momentum 'downhill.'

A downvote, dressed up in the same baby-talk costume as updoot. Used ironically when you're punishing a comment but want to soften the blow — or when you're being sarcastic about how serious Reddit karma is.

down-but-not-out

The incapacitated near-death state you enter instead of dying outright in team battle royales. You're on the floor, crawling, bleeding out — a teammate can still revive you. Universally shortened to DBNO.
