An event so euphoric, frothy, or cringe that veterans clock it as the literal top of the cycle. Celebrities launching coins, Super Bowl crypto ads, your Uber driver giving you alpha, NFT billboards in Times Square. In hindsight, always obvious.

The heaviest set performed in a workout, typically done for low reps, often followed by lighter back-off sets.

All-purpose compliment / thanks. A 'top one' is a great night, a good favour, a sound bit of news. Often paired with 'cheers' — 'cheers, top one' is the standard Mancunian sign-off.

Tacked onto a number to describe a table's size. A four-top seats four, a six-top seats six. The whole restaurant communicates seating this way: 'seat the four-top in section 3', 'we've got a ten-top coming at 8'. Bigger tops mean bigger checks and bigger headaches for the kitchen.

In a bewildered or besotted state, often from being madly in love. Also tootoolbe.

A grind where only the front peg contacts the rail while the rear of the bike is balanced up in the air. It is essentially the front-end counterpart to the icepick.

Doric (Northeast Scots) for someone from the town or city — the urban opposite number to the rural teuchter. Said by Aberdeenshire farmers about anyone who lives within walking distance of a Greggs. Usually disparaging but rarely cutting; mostly it just marks the country/town divide that runs through Northeast Scotland.

Newcastle United supporters as a single black-and-white tidal wave. Toon is Geordie for town (meaning Newcastle itself), and Army captures the away-day travelling-circus energy. One of the most recognised fan nicknames in English football.

A player's in-game character. Whether it's your max-level main or a fresh alt, each one is a toon. Old-school MMO slang that still gets plenty of use.

Derisive slang for a guy who constantly seeks attention, often by hitting on people or showing off at the gym.

The few square blocks of Woodlawn run by the STL/EBT Black Disciples, rebranded after their slain member Tooka. Saying you're from Tookaville is a hard set-claim — it tells anyone listening exactly which side of the war you stand on.

A bag of weed branded — in lyric or in real life — with the name Tooka. The whole point is the disrespect: you're not just smoking weed, you're smoking the dead BD. Triggered some of the most cited drill beefs of the 2010s.

Name of a slain BD kid that drill rappers from the rival GD set weaponised — saying 'Tooka' (or smoking 'Tooka pack') is shorthand for disrespecting the dead and bragging on the killing. Mention of the name on a track is enough to start a real-world fight.

Paper or cardstock saturated with synthetic cannabinoids (K2/spice) or bug spray and smoked, a major contraband problem in some systems. Also spelled tuchie.

Describing someone too pushy, nosy or presumptuous. Also 'too nuff'.

An exclamation expressing surprise, frustration, or annoyance, literally 'thunder'. Also 'tonnay'.

RAF nickname for the Tornado, the swing-wing strike jet that served from 1979 until retirement in 2019. The name's a play on the kids' toy truck brand — heavy, rugged, indestructible-looking. Used affectionately by Tornado crews and ground engineers; you'd hear it on the flight line at Marham or Lossiemouth right up to the type's last flight.

A common (if imprecise) goal of building a lean, defined look by losing body fat and maintaining some muscle rather than adding size.
